Double dresden stained glass pattern.  The black and white pattern can be used as a template for quilting as well,  just cut out the block, then retrace adding a 1/4 inch seam allowance.  If you want to assemble this, I would create three dresden circles (see Craftsy Block of the month for July 2012) then without making the pointy edges on the outer most circle, and applique them together on a background fabric, largest first, then next, then smallest dresden group, and finally the center circle.   The outer round circle can be stitched or appliqued onto a final block square, or appliqued as well.
