Sun getting to maximum overhead position over the equator.   The vernal equinox.  This abstract sun, in warm colors, could just as easily be the man in the moon, with cool colors.  The orbits (from wikipedia) are actually taken from a diagram on the equinox (LOL) to become part of the pattern.
