North east soutn west symbol indicators are in this prairie style four panel 18 inch by 10 inch (3 inch top) lamp pattern. Here those four symbols are squares rather than a circle with compass points. These are earty colors like the rocky mountains in the central plains of the US, and the horizontal stripes like breast plate garments that native americans sometimes wore. 

Take the small image and cut it out of paper and tape it together so you can see the height to witdh ratio for "real" and if you want it taller or squatter just ask and I will modify the pattern.
